Egremont FM DJ - Simon Brace
Simon Brace
AKA The DJ with no socks on!
A little bit about myself...? Well I've been a DJ and broadcaster for as long as I can remember, although my DJing days are a faint memory now. I've presented on several stations over the years and in nearly every slot including, The Breakfast Show, The Late Night Love-in and The Chart Show. I last presented The Weekend Wake-up! for 6 years, some 8 years ago!! so I may be a little rusty, tune in to see....
Shows
The Weekend Wake Up! The Final Week - BACON SARNIES!
Sat March 10th - 9:00 am
What a way to bow out - The final show was full of 80`s hits with a bit of 70`s for good measure. Karen was co-hosting in her own `unique` style and we finally got round to a good argument. Culture with your cornflakes peaked with Rossinni and `The William Tell Overture` (you know, the theme to the lone ranger). Featured biscuit had a twist for the final week as Karen left the studio for 15 minutes only to return with bacon sarnies and M&S chocolate rolls and a big mug of coffee!! What a star you are Karen and thanks for everything over the last 4 weeks. Topics of conversation included steam trains, amazon rain forests and the male domians of fires and barbeques.... I would like to say a BIG thankyou to everyone involved in Egremont FM and to those that put in all the hard work behind the scenes putting all the techy stuff together. Without you there would not have been an Egremont FM. Hope all that listened enjoyed the shows, so until next time, it`s goodbye from me and it`s goodbye from Karen on The Weekend Wake-Up!.....

The Weekend Wake Up! Week 3 - `Chocolate Hobnobs`
Sat March 3rd - 9:00 am
Three weeks in and Karen and myself are nearly getting everything right. Requests and dedications came in thick and fast, and as usual we had a bit of an on-air moan at each other. Culture with Your Cornflakes featured The Barber of Saville -`Largo al Facotum` and must of woken most of the listeners from their sleep. The picture in the top corner looks nothing like me (honest) and I think is a get-back from Karen over some of the things I said on air (just you wait Karen). Featured biscuits were chocolate hobnobs and arrived a little early so both Karen and I ate too many by the end of the show, but how can they be bettered for the final week....tune in to see.
The Weekend Wake Up! Week 2 - `Custard Creams`
Sat February 24th - 9:00 am
More Saturday morning music, fun and cheekiness with Karen Storr co-hosting. It went well again (ish) and thanks for all the Texts and Emails. Culture with Your Cornflakes is proving popular and any requests for your favourite classical clips are welcome. As you can tell from the title this weeks feature biscuits were custard creams and arrived in the studio just after 10. Hope you enjoyed the show, until next week....(and keep listening to Egremont FM)
The Weekend Wake Up! Week 1 - `Digestives`
Sat February 17th - 8:00 am
What went on? Well all went well and the world (via the web) was introduced to my co-host Karen. Infact everything went so well, Karen`s coming back again! We`ve moved slightly from 8am-11am to 9am-12midday. This I believe is due to Karen not being able to get up on a Saturday morning, but I`m told it`s so EVEN MORE people can listen and join in. So here`s to week two with MORE Culture With Your Cornflakes, MORE local news and Karen and I having an argument about anything and everything. Tune in to find out what...?
